WePlay Ventures invested in 11 game studios in 2021

Turkey’s first gaming focused venture capital WePlay Ventures increased its portfolio to 11 in 2021 by investing in startups that develop games for Mobile, PC and Console platforms.

WePlay Ventures , Turkey’s first gaming industry-focused investment company, which started its operations in the third quarter of 2020, shared the summary of 2021. WePlay Ventures, which supports early stage game startups with its experienced team, increased its portfolio to 11 studios with 8 new investments in 2021. In 2022, it aims to expand its investment area in the Eastern Europe and Central Asia region to become the leading investment company in this region.

WePlay Ventures, which started its activities in 2020 and has the title of Turkey’s first game-oriented investment company, continues to maintain the successful momentum it has achieved while leaving 2021 behind. WePlay examined more than 1530 game studios in 2021 and interviewed more than 600 studios and increased its portfolio to 11 studios with 8 new investments made in 2021.

WePlay Ventures announced that they aim to distribute their portfolio in a balanced across Mobile, PC and Console platforms, and 60% of their investments so far develop games for Mobile and 40% for PC and Console platforms. WePlay Ventures aims to transfer the success of the Turkish gaming industry to other ecosystems in this region. They plan to expand its field of activities to Eastern Europe and Central Asia by 2022. WePlay Ventures aims to become the leading investment company of the region by creating new game ecosystems in this region.
